Writing activity to learn spelling and identifying things at the playground

Guide your child to look at the pictures and label them one by one

Encourage your child to read the word before tracing

Recite each letter as your child is tracing it

Prompt your child to read the word again after writing

Start with the tracing worksheet first if they are unfamiliar with the label and move on to writing when they are more fluent

If needed, prompt your child by using a hand over hand prompt to trace and slowly reduce the hand holding pressure to reduce assistance

Use a thick or triangular pencil to help your child hold the pencil with a tripod grip

Spelling - Use 3D alphabets to spell out each word to make spelling more fun and hands on
