Trace Numbers with Fruits!

What is it

Number tracing worksheets with reducing prompts

Teaching Objectives

  • Develop numeracy skills

  • Trace numbers 1 to 10

How to use

  • Count the fruits and identify the number

  • Before starting to trace with a pencil, get your child to trace the number with his index finger.

  • If your child is still learning to trace numbers, prompt your child hand over hand to trace and slowly reduce the hand holding pressure to reduce assistance.

Teaching tips

  • Use a thick or triangular pencil to help your child hold the pencil with a tripod grip

  • Point out numbers on different mediums (e.g. books, magazines, texts...) and practice tracing the number with the index finger to familiarise number formation

  • Use our fun transport theme number roads to work on number formation! Check it out here! https://www.ourspecialstory.com.sg/post/take-a-road-trip-to-learn-how-to-write-numbers

Embed more learning opportunities

  • Matching using number or fruit toys

  • Identify the fruit and its colour
