Brazilian Jiu Jitsu
Learning a martial art through
fun and games

What is
Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ)?
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) is a grappling martial art that combines elements of Judo, Wrestling and Self Defense.
Why do sports?
Building life skills in a fun way
All children can benefit from the exercise, energy release, and pure enjoyment of playing sports. This includes children with special needs.
Children with special needs often face challenges to exercise or play sports due to delayed gross motor skills, lack of experienced coaches to manage their behaviours, parents' fear of their child getting injured, etc.
However, participating in sports can impart important skills that can benefit one in their daily life.
Benefits of sports

Self-esteem

Team work and relationship building

Gross motor and coordination skills

Physical Fitness and Mental Health
Do note that...
BJJ is a contact sport that requires close contact with another person, e.g. grabbing of arms/legs, hugging, sitting on top of another person, etc.
This program is in collaboration with Maverick Martial Arts.
Children who are interested will be required to do a 1-on-1 trial with the coach to assess his/her abilities and suitability to join a group class or start with 1-on-1 classes.
1-on-1 classes are run by Grace, our Behaviour Consultant, who represented Singapore in SEA Games 2025 for Ju-Jitsu (Newaza). Grace wishes to make Ju Jitsu accessible and inclusive for children with diverse abilities.
