Building blocks for academic success

What is Educational Therapy?
Educational therapy (ET) is a holistic, individualized approach to learning support. Educational therapy addresses the root causes of a student's academic struggles, which may stem from:

Autism spectrum disorders
-
Anxiety, depression, or trauma affecting school performance
-
Poor study habits or lack of motivation
-
Processing disorders (auditory, visual, sensory)

Goals of ET
Improve Academic Skills:
-
Reading (decoding, fluency, comprehension)
-
Writing (spelling, grammar, expression)
Develop Cognitive and Executive Function Skills:
-
Attention and focus
-
Working memory
-
Organization and time management
-
Planning and goal setting
-
Task initiation and follow-through
Enhance Emotional Resilience:
-
Building self-confidence in learning
-
Managing school-related stress and anxiety
-
Developing a growth mindset
Foster Independence:
-
Teaching metacognitive skills (thinking about one’s thinking)
-
Helping students become self-aware learners who advocate for their needs

Who Can Benefit from Educational Therapy?
