How to use
Print 2 copies of the same set of animal picture cards to introduce identical matching
Lay 3 different animal cards out in front of your child
Pass 1 matching animal card to your child and give instruction “Find same” or “Where’s this animal?”
Once he is consistent with matching cards, try matching his favourite animal figurines to the cards
Teaching tips
Make sure your child is paying attention and looking before giving him the card to match
Be encouraging! Help your child out as much as possible if he is struggling
Put the cards on paper plates as a clearer indication as to where he should place the matching card
Make it fun by turning it into a game of treasure hunt or hide and seek!
Praise your child for good effort i.e. “I like you looking at the cards!”
