What is it

Reading activity with cut and paste activities


Teaching Objectives

  • Learning vocabulary about parts of the house and the items found in each room

  • Matching non-identical pictures of different rooms and items found in each room

How to use

  • Cut out or let your child practise cutting the pictures provided

  • Have your child read the sentence on each page

  • Lay out a few cut out pictures and let your child match the correct room/item





Teaching tips

  • Do a treasure hunt in the house! Give your child the picture of the fridge and say “go find this”

  • Cover the picture prompt provided if your child is able to read and identify the correct room/item




Embed more learning opportunities

  • Receptive language - Point to the sofa

  • Expressive language - What is this?
